| In some countries the number
13 is accepted to be mystically ill fated. There
is no 13th floor there, no 13th row or place in
a movie theater, no 13th room in a hotel and so
on. Nobody discuss the reasons, nobody tells why,
you see just mysterious expression instead of
answer. Anyway, our attitude to the "13"
is completely different, so we didn't have any
doubt about the 13th SESSIO-ART which took place
on May 26, 2004. The term of action was postponed
because of large-scale renewal works in the Culture
and Business Center, which has been a venue of
SESSIO-ART since 1992. Among the guests were students
from the twin-city Samara, the group of contemporary
dance "Scream". And finally one more
pleasant news: recently we were lucky to find
the hopelessly lost information about the Laureates
of SESSIO-ART'93. So, the history of the project
has no gaps anymore.

We decided to quote the most critical reference
about SESSIO-ART'2004 from the review in "Vitebsk
Kurier" by Elena Pavlova:
"…I wasn't surprised at this exhibition.
Just about five percent of the works displayed
here fit in with context of present European Art.
What really surprised me was that this exhibition
existed and how perfectly it was organized! I
didn't like partiality of Jury members, but this
is common problem. I suppose, the procedure of
voting should be closed so that there were no
influence one person on another. Personally I
especially enjoyed a work of student of Vitebsk
State Technologic University Victor Vakulchik
"Cheese gaps". I like it when young
people try to understand the gone times. I also
liked a sculpture "Sumo" by Agris Skruls
from Latgalian Branch of Latvian Academy of Arts
and a graphic work by Elena Lavrinovich from the
same Academy "Natural contrast - 2"
